Our Story

Full Life Center Logo

The Full Life Inc. started as just a name in 2000, based on Jesus’ promise of full life which is found in John 10:10. In the years following, God clarified this vision of “full life” and slowly added services to the organization.

In 2008, we began to serve individuals in our community through our Volunteer Guardian Program. This program secures legal guardians for incompetent individuals who are unable to manage their personal and medical matters. We are honored to have served over 150 families in this capacity since that time. This service has truly blessed the lives of the individuals we serve, their families, and our volunteers.

Through the development of our Volunteer Guardian Program, the need for additional services became clear, and we began to explore the possibility of offering pooled special needs trusts to the community. Presently, we offer two Pooled Special Needs Trusts which allow a disabled beneficiary the ability to preserve assets, while still maintaining eligibility for government programs, including Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income. It is our goal to partner with family, friends, legal representatives, and the disabled beneficiary, to help provide financial security and peace of mind, while assisting the beneficiary to enjoy a fuller life.

The Full Life Center, Inc. is currently exploring opportunities to provide housing for individuals with disabilities.

The Full Life Center, Inc. is governed by a Board of Directors composed of legal and financial professionals, along with experts who work in the special needs field.

Karen began her service as Executive Director to The Full Life Center in 2008. She is a graduate of Bowling Green State University, The University of Cincinnati College of Law, and holds a certificate in Nonprofit Management/Leadership from Kent State University. Karen is passionate about helping individuals in the community who are unable to care for themselves. Serving as a guardian in the community highlighted the need for additional financial planning services for these individuals. Karen believes that using pooled special needs trusts as an investment vehicle will gain positive results for individuals with disabilities, and provide peace for the future. After work, Karen enjoys spending time with family and friends, and is engaged in many hobby and volunteer activities.
